Qian Xuesen, also known as Hsue-Shen Tsien, was a prominent Chinese scientist and engineer who made significant contributions to the fields of aerodynamics and rocket science.

Born in Hangzhou, China in 1911, Qian Xuesen later went on to study aeronautical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University before receiving a government scholarship to pursue further studies in the United States.
