英文中数字大写
多位数字的读法英语数字的读法和中文数字的读法不同。汉语是每一位数字后都有一个不同的计数单位。例如：12345读成一万二千三百四十五。而英语却是三位一节，把三位看成一个整体，后面再加一个单位。同样的12345这个数，英文的读法是先把整个数从个位数数起，一分为二，三位一节———12， 345。345读成three hundred _and forty-five。12读成twelve。而后的标点逗号“，”读成thousand。最后一合并，读成twelve thousand，three hundred _and forty-five。对于很大的数字也是如此，三位一节，从右往左，第一个逗号读成thousand，第二个逗号读成million，第三个读成billion（美国读法），依此类推。例如：31，234，567，890读成：thirty-one billion，two hundred _and thirty-four million，five hundred _and sixty-seven thousand，eight hundred _and ninety。
为了便于学生理解，先分别就五位数起的多位数字进行单独讲解，后再综合。
1．五位数与六位数的读法 汉语的“万”和“十万”的概念，在英语中没有相应的基数词。对此，需迅速折算一下，“万”即“十个千”（ten thousand）；“十万”即“百个千”（a／one hundred thousand）。如：10，001：ten thous_and _and one；10，041：ten thous_and _and forty-one；10，941：数ten thousand，nine hundred _and forty-one； 100，941：a／one hundred thousand，nine hundred _and forty-one
2．七位数、八位数与九位数的读法汉语的“百万”的概念，在英语中有相应的基数词million。汉语的“千万”和“万万／亿”的概念，在英语中没有相应的基数词。对此，也需迅速折算一下，“千万”即“十个百万”（ten million）；“万万／亿”即“百个百万”（a／one hundred million）。如：2，134，658：two million，one hundred _and thirty-four thousand，six hundred _and fifty-eight
3．十位数及十位以上数目 汉语的“十亿”的概念，在美国英语中有相应的基数词billion，在英国英语中则要说“千个百万”（a／one thous_and million）。“百亿”、“千亿”的表示方法，依次类推。“万亿”，即“百万个百万”（a／one million million）或“兆”，美国英语为a／one trillion，英国英语为a／one billion。如：十亿 1，000，000，000：a／one billion（美）；a／one thous_and million（英）。百亿 10，000，000，000：ten billion（美）；ten thous_and million（英）。千亿100， 000，000，000：a／one hundred billion（美）；a／one hundred thous_and million（英）。万亿1，000，000，000，000：a／one trillion（美）；a／one billion（英）
从上面的例子中不难看出，英语的读数方式是有规律的。关键在于只要掌握三位数以内的数字读法即可。
读熟了，听的问题自然就能迎刃而解。许多学生在考试中听数字的时候总想把听到的数字翻译成中文，以为这样容易记。但由于汉英语言的差异，往往适得其反。在听多位数字的时候，一定要牢记读的原则：读来读去都是三位数字。听到million，thousand等就以“，”代替。例如：You will hear：three million，four hundred _and fifty-five thous_and _and twenty-one．(3,455,021)
答案是：3，455，021。
