【思路点拨】
1.首先要理解这篇文章，Arthur在上班的路上遇到一位年轻人正在费力地发动汽车，但是没有成功，Arthur主动上前帮忙，正在这时，银行的报警响起来，银行发生了抢劫案，正在帮忙拎包的Arthur撞到一位女士，这位女士吃惊地看着Arthur和他手里的手提箱，Arthur突然意识到：那位年轻人可能是银行劫匪。他开始跑起来，那位年轻人在后面追，不停喊：停下来，站住!
2.文章的主题句是第一句，A funny thing happened to Arthur when he was on the way to work one day.这句话奠定了后面续写的基调，一件搞笑的事情，所给的文本并没有把搞笑写出来，那么就一定是在续写部分写出搞笑的结尾：Arthur误以为那位年轻人是银行劫匪，实际上并不是，闹了一个大乌龙。
3.再来看一下文本中划线的单词，the young man,the bank thief,suitcase,shouts，都是后面续写中必需的单词，然后再根据续写情节适当选用其他划线单词。
4.根据续写的两段给出的首句，As he was running,Arthur heard the young man shouting behind,“Stop,stop!”和The taxi stopped in front of the Police Station and Arthur jumped off with the suitcase.可以推知：Arthur急忙之中跳上了出租车，出租车在警察局把他放下，在警察局叙述完经过，打开手提箱却发现原来自己闹了一个大乌龙。
5.续写整体用一般过去时，尽量使用比较复杂的语法结构，如各种从句，非谓语动词等，续写的文体基本是续写一篇故事结尾，动作描述很多，一定要注意非谓语动词的使用。
