教材分析：
本单元的主要内容是谈论中国以及加拿大、美国、英国和澳大利等以英语为母语的国家的概况，主要介绍了这些国家的地理位置、国旗、标志性建筑物、特有动物、自然景观等；本单元的语法重点是复习本册书所学到的特殊疑问句；本单元的写作任务是能用简短的语言介绍中国或某个以英语为母语的国家的概况。Lesson45中国名胜古迹图片是本单元的第三课，主要用英语介绍了中国的语言、中国的首都、中国的国旗及代表性动物和代表性名胜古迹。
学情分析：
    通过七年级上册前面七个话题的学习，学生们有了一定的语言基础与合作学习的能力，为本课的学习奠定了认知和语言方面的基础；学生们初一正在学世界地理，因此，他们对本单元的话题Countries around the World并不陌生，作为中国人，对本课的课题China的学习内容更为熟悉，为本课的学习奠定了认知与情感基础，但是他们不知道如何用英语来谈论中国，也不知道如何用英语介绍中国，这正是将在本文中学习到的语言知识与技能。
教学目标：
知识与技能：
1. 会认读本课的新词汇：language，else，flag，palace，the Palace Museum, lovely;2.能理解课文；3.会用What language do people speak in China? What’s the capital city of China? What countries are east of China？等句子来谈论中国的概况；4. 会用英语介绍中国的国旗、代表性动物及名胜古迹。
过程与方法：
通过地图与图片呈现新知，使认知对象化抽象为具体；设置问题引导学生理解课文；通过结对操练建立同伴互助，夯实语言基础；通过小组合作学习与个人写作活动循序渐进来化解难点，并提高语言运用能力。
情感态度与价值观：
通过情景引入及图片呈现新知，激发学生学习本课题的兴趣；学会用英语谈论中国，用英语
介绍中国，增加学生对英语学习的自信；通过小组合作完成任务，培养学生的团队合作意识。

教学过程：
Step1: Greeting & Leading in. (3 minutes)
T：How are you?
S：..............
T: Today I’d like to introduce my new pen pal to you. Her name is Marry.
Present a map of the world.
T: We are here. We live in China. Marry comes from the US. She speaks English. English is her mother language. She wants to know something about China. Can you help her?
Ss: Yes.
T: What do you know about China?
Ss: ……….
T: I know you know a lot about China, but it’s a little difficult for you to introduce China in English. Let’s learn Lesson 45：China. Then you can introduce China to Marry in English confidently.
设计意图：先问候学生，拉近情感距离,再引出今天的话题。这节课的主题及内容都是学生所熟知的，因此采用创设情境的方式进行导入，让学生通过给老师的笔友Marry用英语介绍中国这个情景导入，与后面的写作任务前后呼应，激发学生用英语谈论中国的兴趣。并在此环节设置的情景中呈现并学习新词汇language。

设计意图：通过填表格，帮助学生理解课文，了解中国概况，增加语言输入。
Step 3: Practice in pairs. (5 minutes)

设计意图：通过结对操练句型，生生互助，夯实语言基础，为下一步用英语介绍中国打下语言基础。
Step 4: Presentation. (5 minutes)

This is the Palace Museum.
It’s famous around the world.
This is the Great Wall. It has a long history.
The pandas are lovely. Pandas live in China.
    设计意图：通过图片分别展示中国国旗、故宫博物馆、长城和大熊猫，在语境中呈现新词汇“else，flag, palace，the Palace Museum，lovely”，并进一步学会用英语介绍中国，学会用英语介绍中国的国旗以及具有体表性的中国名胜古迹与中国的“国宝”。
Step 5: Group work. (6 minutes)
Work in groups of 4 and introduce China in English according to the mind map.
设计意图：根据前面的呈现，列出一张介绍中国的思维导图，小组合作学习，以小组为单位用英语介绍中国，培养学生的团队作合意识，每位小组至少说一句，通过生生互助，学会用英语来介绍中国，降低难度，化解难点。
Step 6: Present more about China. (4 minutes)
Show pictures to introduce more about China.

This is Tian’anmen Square. It’s very big and beautiful. This is the Summer Palace. It is very beautiful. This is the Potala Palace. It is extremely grand.
  设计意图：通过图片，进一步用英语介绍中国更多的名胜古迹，同时强化What else do you know about China?的运用，增加语言输入，并拓宽学生们的视野。
