【小升初知识】这几个与other有关的代词你记住了吗？
other, another, the other, others, the others这几个连初中生看到都头疼的代词竟然在小学就出现了，我们该如何攻克它们呢？先看看下面几组词吧：
Group 1
1．other：泛指其他的（人或物）。常作形容词，后接名词。
如：Mr. Brown and four other doctors were there just now.
2．the other +名词复数，特指一定范围内其余所有的人或物。
如：Mary is much taller than the other girls in her class. 
Group 2others是什么
1．others：泛指另外几个，其他的，有些。others= other+可数名词复数，常见结构：Some…, others…。 
如：Some students are sweeping the floor, others are cleaning the windows.
2．the others：特指某一范围内的“其他的（人或物）”。the others= the other+可数名词复数。
如：Three girl students in our class will go to the zoo, and the others will 
stay at home.
Group 3
1．another：泛指不定数目或三者及三者以上的同类事物中的另一个，可
作形容词和代词。
如：Why don’ t you stay here for another two days?               
2．the other：特指两个人或物中的另一个，常见结构：One…, the other…
如：I got two pairs of glasses. One is blue, the other is brown.
通过观察以上三组句子，我们可以出几个关键词：泛指、特指、单
记忆法则：
无the泛指，有the特指；other、another加名，（the）others不加名。
1．Mike has two brothers. ______ is a teacher, _______ is an engineer. 
A. One, the other          B. One, another   
C. Another, another        D. One, other 
答案A
解析：题目中有two brothers，联想到one…, the other…搭配。
2． Some of the speakers went straight to the conference room. ______ speakers 
are still hanging around.
A.The other  B. The others
C. Another D. Others
答案A
解析：空格后面有speakers，BD选项不能再接名词，排除；C选项Another后接单数名词，这样答案就只有A选项了。如果去掉空格后面的speakers，正确答案就是B选项了。
