签证种类（visa type）、签证代号（code）、出入境（过境）目的（purpose）、停留期限（duration of stay）、有效次数（valid times）、签发机构（issuing authority）、签发地点（place of issuing）、签证官员签字盖章（signature and stamp）、签发日期（date）和签证费用（fees）。

✧ 外交签证（diplomatic visa）
入境或过境的应给予外交官员待遇的外国人一般持外交护照。 签证上标明“外交”字样。按照国际惯例，世界各国对持有本国外交签证的外国官员，一般都给予过境或停留期间外交豁免。
✧ 公务签证（official visa）
入境或过境的外国公务人员一般持公务护照。签证上注明“公务”字样。
✧ 普通签证（ordinary visa）
1．入境或过境的普通人员一般持普通护照。签证上一般只有“签证”字样。
2．根据出入境情况分：出境签证、入境签证、出入境签证以及再入境签证。
3．根据出入境事由分：移民签证、非移民签证、留学签证、旅游签证、工作签证、商务签证等。
4．根据时间长短分为长期签证和短期签证。
✧ 口岸签证（port / landing visa）
又称落地签证，是指申请人不能直接从所在国家取得前往国家的签证，而是持护照和该国有关机关发给的入境许可证明等，抵达该国口岸后再签发签证。
✧ 过境签证（transit visa）
过境签证是指取得该国前往第三国的过境许可。一国公民在国际间旅行，有时因行程和航班等原因，前往其他国家往往需要经过一两个途经国家才能到达目的地。这时，不仅需要取得前往国家的入境许可，而且还必须取得途经国家的过境许可。

签证注意事项与签证申请手续
✧ 申请签证所需证件资料（necessary documentation）
因公出国人员申请外国签证时，必须备齐以下材料：① 有效的护照；② 国外邀请函电；③ 申请人的照片；④ 填写好的外国签证申请表格；⑤ 外交部授权的地方人民政府外事办公室致前往国家驻华使领馆的照会或公函；⑥ 签证费。
✧ 对申请签证的护照的要求（requirements to passport）
① 护照必须有效。送交外国驻华使领馆的护照有效期必须在6个月以上。② 持照人必须在护照上签名。
✧ 填写签证申请表（filling in application form）
领到签证申请表后，不要急于填写表格内容，而应根据自身的实际情况，认真阅读有关说明和规定，将一些含糊不清的地方彻底弄清楚后再按照表格内容逐一填写，以免漏填或误填。

✧ 签证的停留期（duration of stay）
签证的停留期，是指持证人入境后准许其停留的时间。它与签证有效期的区别，在于签证的有效期是指签证的使用期限，即在规定的时间内持证人可出入或经过该国。如某国的入、出境签证有效期为3个月，停留期为15天，那么，这个签证从签发日始3个月内无论哪一天都可以入、出该国国境。
✧ 签证的延期（extension of visa）
申请人获得前往国签证后，应抓紧在签证有效期之内办理离境启程手续。但如果确因极特殊的原因（如生病住院等）而不能在签证有效期之内抵达目的地，应该持有关证明材料到相关国家的驻华使馆（embassy）或领馆（consulate-general）申请办理延期手续。

1. 左上角要求申请者说明入境日期和地点，这就要求旅行者提前做出相应安排。
2. 第3项要求如果申请人现为或曾经是已婚妇女，应给出婚前其娘家的姓氏。
3. 第9项(a)款要求给出现在的住址，如果申请人已在国外，申请前往第三国，则应提供当前居住国的详细地址；(b)款则要求说明在当前地址居住了多长时间及电话号码。
4. 第10项(a)款要求说明申请者本人的永久居住国；(b)款则要求说明在永久居住国的居住时间。
5. 第12项(a)款要求申请人提供与自己相关的公司、大学、资助机构的名称，申请者应事先有所准备；(b)款要求提供相关机构的具体地址和电话号码；(c)款要求申请人说明自己的身份，如果是学生，应说明自己将要学习的课程；(d)款则要求如果申请人从事出版、广播、电视、电影等职业，应说明细节问题。
6. 第13项(a)款要求申请人说明访问目的，申请人对此应心中有数，不能随意填写，更不能
与自己的本意相矛盾；(b)款则是要了解如果申请人从事商务活动，那么申请人间隔多长时间入境一次。
7. 第14项(a)款要了解申请人的大致逗留期限，有的人随手一填就是5年、10年，这样不负责任的申请表被拒签是不足为奇的；(b)款要求申请人提供未来居住地址，此时应填写详细地址，不能仅写一个电话号码或信箱号码，如果被访人能出具邀请信则有利于申请签证；(c)款要求如果申请人申请入境的目的是为了就医，那么申请人应说明：①医生姓名、医院或诊所名称；②何人付医疗费和住院费；③如果自己负担一切费用，应说明金额并附有医生证明；(d)款要求申请人在访问期间如与某个公司、资助机构、研究机构、亲戚、朋友联系的话，应提供其名称或姓名、地址、业务性质。
8. 第15项(a)款询问申请人去某国的时间间隔；(b)款要求申请人说明以前入境的日期。如果该款不适合本人的情况，直接填写“N/A”即可, 意为“not applicable”（不适用）。
9. 第16项要了解的是如果申请人有妻儿偕行，应说明具体情况。如果孩子年龄超过16岁并有自己独立的护照，则应另行填表。
10. 第17项询问申请人是否曾经申请永久居住于某国。
11. 第18项询问申请人是否曾被某国拒绝入境。
12. 第19项询问申请人是否曾被某国驱逐出境。
13. 第20项询问申请人是否在什么国家犯过什么罪。
14. 第21项询问申请人是否患有或其他传染病，或是否有精神和身体方面的障碍。
15. 第22项意为申请人如果对17至21项的回答是肯定的，应说明具体情况。
16. 第23项则适用于过境旅客。(a)款要求申请人说明过境后的目的地；(b)款询问旅行方式；(c)款了解申请人是否持有前往目的国的有效证件；(d)款询问申请人大致的过境和离境时间。
