Teaching History to students will help them identify themselves with their motherland, as they gain a deeper understanding of their own culture through events and anecdotes of the past. Furthermore, technological breakthroughs,achievements in arts, as well as important figures in the history of a race or country instill a sense of national pride in its people. For example, the Chinese today still pride themselves on the Great 4 Inventions: Gun Powder, Paper Making, Compass, and Printing Techniques; Zheng ChengGong, a general in the Ming Dynasty, who successfully defended China against Japanese invasion, has been recognized as a national hero.  Perhaps more importantly, History lessons could bring about permanent peace among countries.  Some parts of the world today are afflicted with pains brought about by wars and conflicts that arise from misunderstanding and mistrust, which could have been avoided through the teaching of world history at school.踏青的诗句
In conclusion,there are individuals who favor subjects such as Science and Technology over History because of better career developments; others, including me, believe that History is more important.
