1. Now situated near Wu Tai Shan Sports Center and Xin Jie Kou central business district in central Nanjing, Nanjing Medical University was originally founded in Zhenjiang in 1934 as National Jiangsu Medical College. The college was moved to Nanjing in 1957 and renamed Nanjing Medical College. In 1962, it joined the first group of medical universities in China to offer six-year programs, and was approved to award doctoral and master's degrees in 1981. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University with the approval of the State Educational Committee. Currently a comprehensive university with the disciplines of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biology, Management and Law, Nanjing Medical University enjoys high regard at home and abroad.
国外有名医学院南京医科大学位于南京市中心，临近五台山体育中心和新街口商业中心。起初建于1934年于镇江名为江苏省立医政学院，并于1957年迁至南京改名为南京医学院。1962年，被列为全国首批六年制医药院校。1981年，被批准为全国首批博士、硕士学位授予单位。1993年，经国家教委批准更名为南京医科大学。如今，南京医科大学已经成为集医学，药学，护理学，生物学，管理及法学为一提的综合性大学，在国内外享有盛誉。
2. Nanjing Medical University is comprised of 17 schools: the School of Basic Medical Sciences, the School of Public Health, the First School of Clinical Medicine, the Second School of Clinical Medicine, the Third School of Clinical Medicine, the fourth School of Clinical Medicine, the School of Wuxi Clinical Medicine, the School of Qindao Clinical Medicine, the School of Gulou Clinical Medicine, the School of Stomatology, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Medical Policy, the school of Foreign language, the School of International Education , the School of Continuing Education, and the School of Higher V ocational and Technical Education and an independent school : the Kangda School. It has 17 affiliated hospitals in Nanjing, Changzhou, Wuxi, Suzhou and Huai'an.
学校设有两个校区（五台校区和江宁校区）学校设有17个学院（系：DEPARTMENT）包括：基础医学院、公共卫生学院、第一临床医学院、第二临床医学院、第三临床医学院、第四临床医学院、鼓楼临床医学院、无锡临床医学院、青岛临床医学院、口腔医学院、药学院、护理学院、医政学院、外国语学院、国际教育学院、继续教育学院和高等职业技术学院１个独立学院——康达学院。学校在南京，常州，无锡，苏州，淮安等地还设有17个
附属医院。
3. 南京医科大学现有博士后科研流动站5个，现有博士学位授权点41个，硕士学位授权点61个. 学校设有16个本科专业、2个六年制双学位专业和5个七年制专业（方向）。除此之外，学校拥有3个国家重点学科，12个省级重点学科。学校现有1个国家重点实验室、4个部级重点实验室、12个省级重点实验室.
Nanjing Medical University has 5 post-doctoral research stations, 41 doctor’s degree programs, and 61 master’s degree programs. It has two six-year dual bachelor's degree programs, and five seven-year programs. In addition, we offer 3 national key disciplines, 12 provincial key disciplines, 1 key laboratory at state level, 4 key laboratories at ministry level and 12 key laboratories at provincial level.
4. 学校现有在职教职工1500多人，其中学校编制专任教师670人。有教授117人、副教授175人，有博士生导师189人、硕士生导师996人。在校学生超过1.3万人。
Today Nanjing Medical University boasts the faculty of over1500, among which (there are) 670
are full time teachers, 117 are professors, 175 are associate professors, 189 are supervisors of doctor’s degree programs and 996 are supervisors of master's programs. Student enrollment is over 13,000.
5. 近年来，学校积极与国内外的高等院校建立形式多样的联系与合作。学校与美国、澳大利亚、日本、法国等国家的医学院校或科研机构建立了双边合作、学术交流关系。(学校聘请了一批知名专家学者担任学校名誉教授，客座教授。
Nanjing Medical University takes an active role in developing relationships with higher- education institutions (both at home) in China and abroad. the university has conducted academic exchanges and bilateral cooperation with hospitals and medical institutions in the U.S.A, Japan, France, Australi and elsewhere. Several prestigious experts and scholars have been conferred Nanjing Medical University Honorary or Guest Professorships.
