Teaching aims :
1. Review and expand vocabulary about food and lifestyle
2. Review the relationship between diet and health
3. Improve the reading skills by learning to understand the overall
meaning, look through the passage quickly and find the details.
Teaching procedures:
Step one Lead-in
Play the flash about Exercise Song.
Then Teacher says: Can you tell me how to be a healthy person? Students answer: healthy food and lifestyle.
Teacher says: A healthy person = good diet +good lifestyle + happy
every day
Step Two Presentation
1. Teacher asks: Who has a good lifestyle, Kitty or Millie?
Ss answer: Kitty. T: Can you say something about Kitty? Ask some students to retell the passage about Kitty in one group. Then say something about Daniel in another group.
2. T: I have invited Kitty and Daniel here. Would you like to ask them some questions? Let’s welcome them. Kitty and Millie stand in front of the class. The other students may ask them questions one by one just like the journalist interview. Questions like below: How often do you dance? How long do you dance every time? Why is healthy food so important for you? What do you have for breakfast? Do you feel hungry between meals? What do you like doing? What do you love eating? Do you often exercise? What do you plan to eat every day? What do you plan to do? ......Then ask some students to give Daniel some advice abo
ut healthy lifestyle.
3. T: We have known much about Kitty and Daniel. Let’s fill in the blanks about them according to the text. First do it by yourselves, then discuss in groups to check the answers
